You are warmly invited to attend a forthcoming online medical forum titled ‘Assisting people to live, not to die’.
This event will address feelings of being a burden towards end of life and will include observations from clinicians and the issue around balancing personal autonomy with wider societal implications when it comes to arguments around euthanasia and assisted suicide. Confirmed speakers include Dr. Regina McQuillan and Prof. Harvey Chochinov.

Dr. Regina McQuillan

Dr. Regina McQuillan is a consultant in palliative medicine. She serves as a consultant at both Beaumont Hospital and St Francis Hospice in Dublin and is also involved in education and research, with interests in access to palliative care for vulnerable or marginalised groups. 

Professor Harvey Chochinov

Prof. Harvey Chochinov is a Canadian psychiatrist and academic. He is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba and Senior Scientist at the the CancerCare Manitoba Research Institute. He has led the innovative development of Dignity Therapy, a practical and structured therapeutic tool for patients near the end of life. He is an international leading palliative care researcher and co-editor of The Handbook of Psychiatry in Palliative Medicine.
