Hope Ireland witnesses testify at Joint Oireachtas Committee for Assisted Dying
Hope Ireland was represented at the Joint Oireachtas Committee for Assisted Dying (JCAD) by Dr.Miriam Colleran and Ms Emer Maguire, during the committee’s discussion on “Access to Palliative Care and Social Supports”. After discussing international experience where assisted dying was introduced and progressively expanded, Dr Colleran concluded: “The only safeguard is keeping it illegal.”
